Ice Shavings Program

*December 3rd practice is from 4:00pm to 5:30pm

*All other practices will be from 2:30pm to 4:00pm

*All practices are held at Mosinee Elementary School, 600 12th St, Mosinee 54455.

$80 for 990 minutes of fun, active, and engaging learning centered around the sport of volleyball!

The biggest emphasis at this age level is to introduce the athletes to the basic skills of volleyball. The basic skills are serving, setting, passing and attacking. Proper footwork and court movement will be stressed. A basic offense and a three or four person serve receive will be used. Athletes will be trained to work and communicate as a team on the court. These age levels (Chips – 11 & 12, Shavings – 8, 9 & 10) are offered as an introduction to the Ice experience and to instill a love of the game in our younger players. Chips teams will compete in a few tournaments; whereas Shavings is strictly an instructional program.

• Pre-tournament teams – players introduced to basic motor & volleyball skills and meet new people in a fun environment
• 8s, 9s & 10s
• Teams formed by age, skill level, or talent divided evenly at the discretion of the Program Coordinator
• 1 practice per week – approx. 1 1⁄2 to 2 hour sessions in Wausau/Mosinee area; typically on Sunday
• Season from early December to late February

Our Shavings program wrapped up their season on March 5th and I think their smiles say it all!

Coach Molly said they were a dream and I think they felt the same about her and Coach Andrea!
